Sometimes it’s just too much....
-
You get talking with someone, they even seem to align with what you’re saying, then they say something like “I just don’t care” and your heart drops. In that moment I often feel like screaming. It’s so natural to feel angry and want to say something nasty. But this is not about me. This is about the animals.
-
I know that it’s cognitive dissonance in that moment that is driving their response. They feel an inconsistency with their beliefs and the truth we are awakening them to. So they trivialize it, or they just accept the truth and change their behavior. Everyone reacts differently depending on their past life experiences, maturity, etc.
-
The point is that they are having a moral dilemma and are trying to wriggle out of it. When I react with hostility, I give them the perfect opportunity to tell themselves that everything I’ve said is now discredited. They can now walk away and resolve their moral conflict by saying I’m just another crazy vegan and they don’t need to change anything. Of course this can happen anyway, but if I remain calm, patient, empathetic, and continue to guide them, they are more likely to bring their walls down and face what they are feeling.
-
Don’t give them that way out. Take a deep breath to settle your anger. Evaluate the situation and decide if this person if worth continuing a conversation with. If not, politely exit the conversation by thanking them for talking with you even though it is an uncomfortable topic, offer them a card, and say goodbye. Now when they leave they may continue to have an internal conflict because you were pleasant and they didn’t find an easy way out. It is at the very least, a seed planted.
-
Remember, we are out here to plant seeds. It’s incredible when someone deals with their cognitive dissonance in a healthy way by accepting the inconsistency and making the change to veganism on the spot, but for many it takes time and many planted seeds before one really takes root.
-
I know that all people have care in their hearts. Sometimes it’s just very well buried, but it’s there. Next time someone tells you they “just don’t care”, ask them when they stopped caring.

Behind every cheeseburger, bacon, sushi, and chicken wings, are real cows, pigs, fish and chickens who suffered and died.
-
They’ve been mutilated, separated from their families, raised in confinement and ultimately their throats were slit.
-
These animals are no different than the cats and dogs we love and they valued their lives just like you and I value our lives.
-
If this doesn’t sit right with you, take a stand against it. If you and I don’t stand up for what is right, who do you think will?

We had two cubes on Saturday night, one located in Little Italy and the other in Oceanside 🎭💕 Together, the volunteers got a whopping total 184 people to take veganism seriously in just two hours!! Amazing!!! #anonymousforthevoiceless #cubeoftruth

AGRESSIVE/EXTREMIST VEGANS
That’s what you think? I know it’s the opinion of a lot of people.
Thing is, when you’re vegan, you know what happens to animals. You know how we rape mothers every year to make her pregnant and steal her baby from her just after he was born so that he won’t drink the milk that humans want (but don’t need). You know how that child will be used if she’s a female or just murdered if he’s a boy. And why? Because we as humans think we have the right to chose who can live or not, who we can use.
We know how we kill the chickens babies if they’re not females, ‘cause yes... we don’t need them.
And we know how the animal exploitation affects our environment. We know the effect on our planet.
And the truth is that sometimes I just don’t want to stay calm when I hear someone telling me that they don’t care if animals are being killed, that animals are here for us, that it is normal to use them, to rape them, to kill them.
Nothing of this is normal. If we did this to a dog, everyone (in Europe at least) would be shocked and say it is animal cruelty, some even would call the police. But when it comes to animals that they decide is not good enough to live, you can do whatever you want, they will call it “normal” and you will be the extremist.
I’m not sorry if sometimes I can’t stay calm. I’m just sorry for the animals. Sorry that humans are so bad. That they won’t open their eyes and use their 🧠. (This is not about the discussion on the picture ahah).

Met pigs for the first time. Cried like a baby.
.
Before I was vegan I used to eat pigs just to be consistent with myself. I ate their bodies despite what the culture and religion I was brought up with had led me to believe: "Pigs are impure creatures"
.
I was told that pigs are so unclean that even by touching them I would be committing a sin. I was told that breathing the air they exhale would be "haram": a big no-no in Islam.
.
I don't believe in any of that for a long time now. But my family do. So when I decided to stop eating pigs and love them instead, I was faced with the same objections. My loved ones literally left me with a choice to make: I would either block all my relatives on social media, or I would stop posting "provocative" pictures, such as this one.
.
Well, guess what I did?
.
When I couldn't accept the things my religion imposed on me, I became an atheist.
.
When I couldn't accept the things my culture wanted me to do, I became a vegan.
.
I no longer accept things that I cannot change. I change the things I cannot accept instead.
.
My love and support goes out to all my Atheist/ Vegan/Queer friends who have to put up with extreme social pressure for wanting to express themselves freely. You are not alone! Despite what everyone else says, you can be who you want to be. It's your life, your decisions. 💙✌

Sitting in the wood chips that once were wonderful tree houses. When I think about what RWE has done to this amazing life out here hurts too much to find words.
So come and join us on the weekend from the 25th of October to the 29th of October and let your voice count. 🌎💙

As I said earlier, the youths are the future for our planet. That’s why I’m always siked to see and hear from them being interested in veganism. Especially when these thoughts are comming from their own hearts actually realizing whats going on beyond walls. 🖤

“and Mother Nature wept...” 24 months ago I thought I’d never be vegan, 20 months ago I never thought I’d be an activist & I never believed that going vegan was going to be the only way to save our beautiful planet but here we are.

I’ve gone from being part of a Young Farmers community to wanting people to change to a vegan lifestyle. If not for me, for my future children.
Without veganism the planet will come to a dramatic end as we haven’t been treating Mother Nature nicely.
We have 12 years in which we’ll see dramatic irreversible changes.

Veganism has changed my life for the better and there is no valid reason so not be vegan. Please message me for help and support. 💚

I gave up caring about what others thought about me a while ago. I haven’t been happier. Now my values and my passion align. Things just work now. Don’t be afraid of being you. No matter what, you’re always going to have haters. Hang in there, stay committed and one day those haters will be asking for your advice.

Cube Of Truth (14-10) Dit meisje maakt haar werkstuk over de dieren op de Oostvaardersplassen. We hebben daar even over gekletst.

#cubeoftruth #anonymousforthevoiceless with @jordan___steven very successful. The honor was mine to be with like minded vegans speaking out for the animal the planet and human health.

Yesterday we debuted our 4 brand new TVs which our group raised the money for in just 3 days. Their effect was massive! So many people were interested and we managed 109 effective conversations. #anonymousforthevoiceless
