Crye Precision LVS Overview
This is as low profile as it gets for a Level IIIa vest. The vest itself can be worn with or without a cover. If you're wearing this every day for work, you should wear the base vest with a cover to keep yourself from smelling. The base vest IS the armor that is normally the insert for other concealable body armor systems, so that cannot be laundered—only wiped down. The covers should be washed as needed like with other armor systems. Because the vest is 3-D molded to eliminate crumpling, it should be stored with the accompanying storage frame to keep its form when you're done using it. You can pack it into the storage system with or without a cover.
The Plate Carrier Cover has no estimated release date, and the Overt Cover is slated to ship first or second week of May. The only difference between that and the Covert Cover is the added hook and loop on the front and rear chest area for patches (LE/Mil identifiers, etc.). The LVS Plate Holder can be integrated into the vest to hold plates under a cover. I will do a post on that at a later date.
This is one of the most competitive vests on the market in terms of both price, function, modularity, and concealability. All components are made in the USA with US materials.
If any of you guys are in the P&S Equipment or Cool Guy Gear Facebook group pages, I've got a detailed, step by step instructions guide on how to set the entire thing up.
