💚ONE YEAR💚

One year ago, I signed up for a gym membership.
In the past, the only thing I used the gym for was hours of cardio to justify eating.
NO MORE👋🏽

This past year, I discovered weight lifting and my relationship with exercise has changed forever. I’m feeling very nostalgic!

I never knew I could feel this strong or confident or fearless. OF COURSE, there are a lot of other aspects of my life that have changed this for me but

The gym has become incredible therapy for me.
I go when I feel angry, sad, hurt, confused, stressed, and GREAT!

To anyone that is intimidated my the gym, I would give you this one big ol tip that is THE ONLY thing that has worked for me in getting started and going consistently-
✨only go when you feel like it✨

WHAAAAAAT😱people’s jaws are dropping everywhere, I can hear it.
But listen, if you have had a negative and toxic relationship with the gym like I had, falling into those obsessive behaviors will feel familiar...

Combat this by going when you want to, when you have energy to get out or believe it will help you cope with a difficult moment. Don’t force yourself!

Some weeks, I go to the gym 6 times. Some weeks I go only a few. But the gym is a part of my life now (a beautiful part) and that’s how I did it.

Here’s to continuing to CRUSH the patriarchy one workout at a time 💪🏽🌱

"All the women in me are tired" - Nayyirah Waheed.
Fortfarande. Vi kämpar, fortfarande.
Alltid, tills det inte behövs mer.

"Lucky for you that you have the luxury to agonize about your choices, what about the woman who picks up your trash after you leave at five?"
"Women like Bethenny - my friend from the town of vanishing men - have a kind of ambiguous independence right now. They are much less likely to be in abusive relationships, much more likely to make all the decisions about their lives, but they are also much more likely to be raising children alone. It's a heavy load."
The End of Men by Hanna Rosin, talked about the dilemma of women's double function in society. #feminist #crushthepatriarchy #theendofmen

“Dominator culture has tried to keep us all afraid, to make us choose safety instead of risk, sameness instead of diversity. Moving through that fear, finding out what connects us, revelling in our differences; this is the process that brings us closer, that gives us a world of shared values, of meaningful #community .”

THIS RIGHT HERE!💥 @shesaysindia couldn't agree enough on this video:) We hope you guys all practice these values and go out into the world and treat everyone with respect and kindness.💓✊ #Repost @them ・・・
In honor of #TransDayOfRemembrance — a day to memorialize and honor those trans people who have been taken from us as a result of violence — we have compiled The 6 L’s of Trans Support, a list of six easy ways for anyone to start taking the necessary action to ensure a safer future for our trans family. As we take today to reflect on the murders of the most marginalized members of our queer community, we ask that our cis brothers and sisters keep these in mind especially. A day of “remembrance” means nothing without action.

The #wheniwas is a movement on Twitter that women are using to share their early experiences with sexual harassment. It has grown exponentially since it was started. Keep it up ladies! -S #feminist #feminism #equality #tweet #hashtags #sexualharrasment #crushthepatriarchy

We are glad that our collective efforts on the #lahukalagaan campaign and the PIL filed in Bombay High Court have inspired others to lend weight behind the movement like this! Let's make sure we keep the momentum on #lahukalagaan going. Currently the GST prices are being revised + people are discussing the taxation on sanitary napkins again. So now our voice is more important than ever! Please join @shesaysindia and tag your pictures with #lahukalagaan to reach more people
