Pudasjärvi Wood Campus in Oulu, Finland, is an environmentally-friendly large-scale timber structure that emphasises wood's potential.
With a primary structure constructed of assembled logs and structural walls made of laminated wood, there are also three types of unconventional pillars.
Exterior log walls keep the interior insulated against the searing summers and harsh winters outside, and CLT elements are used in intermediate floors and banisters in the main hall stairways.
An extraordinary feature of the campus is the pleasant auditory interior acoustics the log wall create, and when combined with the wood's aesthetic appearance and agreeable scent, the building offers its students an excellent learning environment.
