Yay squats. Heaviest front squats I have done since June. πŸ€—(Stupid injuries 😑). Also the first time I have hit the programmed percentages, all be it the lower limit. I worked up to 82.5 and the top end was 90kg.
I have been building up the weight each week to check my post injury form and get some confidence back. .

Another mega partner workout in the @crossfitleeds endurance class on Monday! Keep the dumbbell weight light. Burpees over your partner are with your partner in a plank hold and sprawls are press up then sideways plank walk over your dumbbell. Enjoy!! 😘🀩

There's definitely some things you can't wing such as fitness, strength and skill. I wouldn't take a cake out of the oven until it has cooked through so why add weight to your bar until your lifting technique is nailed... and why go RX in the Wod if the working weight is 5kg off your pb. Be patient! Scaled isn't shameful. Scaled is sensible. Total cheese πŸ§€ but trust the process. You can't wing a 40 minute 10km race if you can't maintain 6.25 min miling. You have to put the work in. Don't expect results if you've not put the work in. Be honest with yourself πŸ‘±β€β™€οΈ #honestyisthebestpolicy

A good session for me is when I hit peak flow. Peak flow can simply be described as being 'in the zone'. Going into a session mindlessly causes boredom for me.

Each day I look at what workouts and lifts I have and focus on something to improve. Doing this is an excellent way to ensure your technique, strength and fitness is actually getting better.

Just like most people... I began as an athlete or gym goer. When I started hockey I had zero skill and coordination. When I started running I had zero efficiency and ability to pace. When I started CrossFit I had fitness but zero weightlifting strength or gymnastic ability. Underneath all this I have had to develop from zero self-confidence in public speaking to regularly coaching full classes and one on one clients. Being a good coach is more than just being a good athlete. The benefit of being able to perform movements is your ability to demonstrate as a visual cue... however your individual mental and physical experience getting to the point you are at adds far more value. As someone who has never been able to just walk into sports and nail it... I understand the journey you take to become fitter, stronger and more skilled. It is vital to be constantly learning how to better yourself as a coach and athlete. In the words of #bandura ... "Self-efficacy is the belief in one’s ability to influence events that effect one’s life and control over the way these events are experienced" (Bandura, 1994).Β Building self-efficacy in coaching will build your belief in your ability to help those you coach in the very same movements you have developed over the years. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š

Since starting a little weightlifting in my CrossFit training... muscles have appeared in places I didn't have as a runner. I would often go home and Mum would say "where's your neck gone!?
