This workout tested me more than any others last weekend.
Muscle ups at the end of a workout, at the end of a two day competition.
Still a huge weakness. Bring on the next few months of getting STRONG! 👊🏼💪🏼👊🏼

MOST RECENT

Sometimes it's difficult to be reminded how far off my PRs I am from just a year ago.
But then I realize that "who I was" is not the challenge.

The challenge is to be who I think I can be today.
And then be just a little bit more.

The D-Ball clean is a alternative to using a barbell, so it challenges our muscles differently (especially that core). Plus, they're a lot of fun!

One of my favourite movements for isolating the glutes... Glute raises from the back extension machine 🍑

Tips for execution:
1. Keep legs square with your hips
2. Turn toes slightly outwards
3. Keep your chin tucked in so as to keep a neutral spine
4. Tuck your rib cage in (you'll almost feel like you're in a slight crunch position) so that your spine doesn't extend at the top portion of the movement. This will turn the movement into a back extension taking the tension off the glutes
5. Extend upwards ONLY to where you feel a pinch in your bum. If you extend further, again, you will take tension off the glutes.
6. Keep tension throughout the ROM, from start to beginning
7. On the upward phase of the movement, you should initiate purely from the glutes and pull the tension through the glutes. You can see from the video I am pulling through the glutes as opposed to just extending upwards and squeezing. The former is much more effective 🔥
I like to set these with other glute focused movements such as good mornings, pull throughs, Bulgarians or rdls. They feel real good on the glutes 😋 #CoachDbomb #ProgressNotPerfection #Legs #Glutes #Humpday #Legday #Gains #mindset #crossfitgirls #fatlossjourney #bodybuilding #bodybuildingmotivation #fitfam #fitnessjourney #fitness #fitnessmodel #fitgirl #girlswithmuscles #fitness #transformationtuesday #strengthtraining #strongwomen #girlswhotrain #Crossfit #crossfitireland #girlswholift #gluteworkout #l4l #f4f

Should you avoid eating carbs? In short no, but the amount you consume should depends on your requirements.
-
"A high intensity sport such as CrossFit can place high demands on your body to use and replenish its energy stores. The most efficient way for you to replenish this store of energy is by consuming carbohydrates"

There are some many stereotypical minds out there I swear to god, nothing really bothers me I couldn't give a fuck about who does what or anything, I've my dreams and goals set and I 100% am going to reach them even if I have 2 weeks in a row that are bad, I know for a fact I'll get there ! So many different people say oh you have to "look the part" to be a personal trainer or a coach "you have to look like a model " a fucking model 😂😂😂 I can tell you I will be a "model " a ROLE MODEL at 70kg of muscle if even 🐷to every single person that doesn't think they can achieve there ambitions because somebody says you have to "fit" a certain criteria that's complete bull, honestly ! There's such thing as "not being a sheep" there the people that get far in life, having fixed attitudes like that will not get you anywhere you can't grow, the people who listen, have an opinion but respect others them people who progress in life and deserve what they want. Moral of the story is UNFOLLOW anybody in life or on social media that has that negative impact on you 💪😂

When the @strongfit1 overhead openers get misinterpreted 🙈😂😂

Worked on @killiancarolan yesterday as he prepares for @strengthwars in two weeks. Working on his quads, inner thighs (adductors), hamstring, glutes and lower back. Check out Killian page and follow his journey on strengthwars

PB's aren't always pretty. They aren't always technically spot on. You're lifting a load that you have never attempted before... things will feel obviously strange! And you may mechanically move slightly different to a load that you are confident and comfortable with. This is natural. It will shock your CNS, and mess with your head game. It's very important to incorporate progressive overload in the programming of resistance training... for 4 main reasons in my opinion. To, 1) measure your strength levels and see if there has been progression.. you can't move forward unless you have this sound evidence; 2) to test your set up and form... this is particularly so with compound lifts, form over rides the weight every time! If I feel a client's form is poor.. we always pull back the weight, 3) to pin point any bad habits.. lifting a heavier load will automatically highlight areas that need massive improvement and tweaking, 4) to test your neurological strength and stamina... it's not easy knowing you are about to lift a really heavy load unknown to your mind and body.. it shows heaps and bounds how your mind and resilience has developed over the course of time... and it is this resilience that will help you achieve your goals! This is lex's PB the other day on sumos - 92.5kg x 4. They aren't perfect by any means. And we have a few things to fix. Her hips are rising initially and she struggled with the lockout. But concrete progress has been made. Her strength is way up; we've gone from 50kg on sumos to 92.5kg. Lex was quite imbalanced when she first began coaching with me.. she had a very weak core and posterior, while her ankle mobility and hence overall stability was poor due to the many injuries she encountered from competitive horse riding. But we've worked hard at trying to balance things out. And we are still working hard to make better improvements. Her journey continues and I can foresee a 100kg lift in time 💪🏼@anuess
