I 💜 handmade. Being able to wear the things I’ve made brings me such joy, but seeing other people wear them as well is just beyond what I ever could have hoped for when I started crocheting.
When I was pregnant, I thought about all the hats, scarves and mittens my mom and gramma made for us as kids, and I wanted to be able to make them for Violet. So I learned more stitches and how to read patterns. I just wanted my newborn to have a cute hat, and here we are, four years later, both of us wearing actual clothes that came from my own two hands.
My yarny skills have far surpassed my pre-Violet expectations, but I am still excited to learn more. I am so inspired by this amazing community, where I see new techniques and yarns and pretty things everyday. I plan to tackle knitting (for like, the fifth time 🙄) after Christmas - wish me luck! What about you, what’s something you want to learn?
