"She was not looking at a girl in the mirror; she was looking at a machine."
Just finished this book and gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars.
I LOVED IT.
The retelling of Cinderella as a cyborg was really interesting and catching. Though the book was simple, it was unique in many ways. I liked the building of the world and this is my first Sci-Fi book and I wasn't disappointed. I really liked Cinder and felt for her because of all the things that she discovered about herself though out this book. And most importantly, it was not predictable; I was really surprised when things started to be unraveled at approximately the end and I can't wait to continue with series because of the hangover. Marissa ended things in this book unresolved to urge the readers to continue the series which worked on me. As for Prince Kai, I really wanted to like him more because he is a good character but I felt like their was something missing. I didn't really feel the connection between him and Cinder. Maybe the one thing I didn't like about this book is their relationship because I felt like it wasn't complete or strong. It was a merely mutual liking and it didn't develop. In books that have romance, I like it to be intense and endearing but Kai-Cinder relationship felt close to a crush tbh. One more thing is that I hoped that we would know more about the Lunar people and their planet but I think we will get some in the next books.
Anyway, I want so bad to continue with the series but unfortunately I have more books in mind and Scarlet would have to wait for the start of 2018.
