Healthy, glowing skin, increased energy, stabilized moods- all of that starts from within. Feed yourself living foods that make you literally feel amazing as soon as you consume them. In the past I would drink between 3-4 cups of coffee a day, chasing the elusive energy that I was always trying to catch, but would still always be tired. Now my energy comes from greens and superfoods and water, and from moving my body daily. (I still have one cup of coffee in the morning, mainly because I love the ritual and deliciousness of fresh coffee). As women our bodies and hormones are always fluctuating, so you can help support that by paying attention to how you feel after you eat or do a certain workout. What works for your body might not be what works for another woman. There is no denying that food is confusing! πŸ™ƒ We are constantly bamboozled with different information, research and marketing tricks on what is good for us and what is not so good for us. .

Some of it simple to understand - Yes you know, that extra large can of V and bag of m&ms that you had for breakfast followed by a pie for lunch is not a nutritious source of fuel for your body to run at its optimum........But what about the things we think are "healthy."

Take your daily glass of red wine 🍷 Research has shown it to be a great source of antioxidants, beneficial to health, but the flip side the alcohol content adds extra work for your liver meaning it can potentially be detrimental to health.
Or take the potato πŸ₯” for example. The poor potato has had a bad rep in the media for years for being the almighty source of evil carbs.......but the humble potato if eaten cold (after being cooked) is actually a prebiotic which promotes great gut health. Gut health, itself is one of the most important contributors to a healthy body and mind. .

So yeah, food is confusing! Both your SAS Team Training coaches are by no means nutritionists or dieticians, but both however have a strong interest in this area and do a lot of research before positing any information on social media in regards to nutrition, this is to ensure we inform the SAS recruits and community with correct information. .

I am sure most of y'all wonder what the heck I am talking about when I post about my challenge groups! There are so many wonderful benefits of a challenge group vs joining a gym. Β I’m a former gym rat…I loved going to the gym, the people, the classes and the atmosphere! Β What I’ve come to learn the hard way is that although there are many social benefits to belonging to a gym, I wasn’t getting the results that I was ultimately there for!

After an eventful day with getting into a car accident we decided to make the most of our Wednesday with a trip to the ER and some stitches!
