• • OCEAN SONGS • • _ OK… we’re going to say it… here it comes… a word that can certainly divide a lot of folks… OYSTERS!!!… we certainly like them… we sure aint no “Two Dozen Jenkins”, but we like them… but no matter how you feel about oysters… you simply have to try LAW OF THE TONGUE… a smokey oyster stout from Orbost (Victoria) brewer SAILORS GRAVE @sailorsgravebrewing ... because... folks… for us… this is quite simply... a beer of the year!!! _
LAW OF THE TONGUE absolutely won us over… it has been brewed with Wapengo Rocks Oysters @wapengorocks ... and Sunrise Limes… and it has an amazing combination of smoke… (oh gawddamn... this has some nice smoke)… with a touch of sea-saltiness alongside some smooth malty roasty tones… but surprisingly that little extra addition of the limes delivers a great little zesty zing of freshness that stops this stout from becoming too heavy… and then there is the smoke… oh… did we mention the smoke… OK OK... for those that know us, yeah if it has the word “SMOKE” in it then we are bigtime into it… but the amount of smoke in this beer is just freaking lovely… and it sticks around on your taste-buds so damn deliciously well well well after the beer has gone.
Ben here 👋🏻 since doing dry July my diet has changed a bit.. Among other things, I've been trying more of the same drinks had during the month of sobriety.. And have been loving using our #craftdglass👌🏻 working on a non-beer concept collection now ✌🏻 exciting!
• • DOWN IN THE PARK • • _ Oh yeah... we sure do love STOMPING GROUND @stompinggroundbrewingco beers… their newly released BUNKER PORTER is named after the legend of a wartime bunker that lies underneath the Collingwood (Victoria) brewery.
Right from the can opening… BUNKER is brilliantly rich in chocolate aromas… it's also just as chocolatey in the smooth taste which is combined with roasty goodness. Damn delicious!!! _ We would certainly be happy to take cover and see the rest of Winter out… while enjoying this Porter!
Our ANNIVERSARY FRANK is straight into it with this huge dank IIPA from Sydney legends @batchbrewingcompany 🤙🏻 so. much. green. 🌳 (👈🏻 kinda looks like a hop, right?) anyways, this is a good way to reintroduce hops after a month off.. 🤯👌🏻 so epic
• • THE BLACK SEA • • _ It’s still Winter… and we are still drinking Stouts… and we really enjoyed the STOUT from Braeside (Victoria) brewers BOATROCKER - BREWERS & DISTILLERS. @boatrockerbrew BOATROCKER’s STOUT is… well… quite simply... just a great well-made easy-drinking Stout… with a nice weight Alc/Vol… and although we don’t really talk about beer prices that often… this 500ml bottle was really generously priced… and so… that all said… means that we are certainly going back for more!
