This past weekend I was honored to receive official endorsements from the Oljato Chapter and San Juan County Democratic Party. I'm here standing with James Adakai, Albert Holiday, and Willie Grayeyes (and Baby Kate). #couragetochange #nativevote18 #utpol #singerforutah #sanjuancounty #cd3 #bluewave

So very thankful for my struggles over the past 4+ years. Without them I probably never would have been forced to grow as much as I have in such a short period of time. I wouldn’t have had a spiritual awakening without going through the tough stuff I did. Was it fun at the time? No, but I would do it all over again to get to the place I am at now. I learn something new everyday that I never knew existed and I’m so thankful I am where I am in life. We can’t know joy without suffering. If there was no suffering and everything was great all the time we wouldn’t appreciate it because we wouldn’t know the difference. We are spiritual beings living a human experience and I know I’m not going to waste it watching crap TV every night like I did years ago-I’m going to live! ✨

lets talk about the myth of the ideal woman. this is the topic du jour on the podcast {link in bio!} and a huge contributor to our sense of unworthiness.

the myth of the ideal woman is a narrative we are given from a very early age about what it means to lead a happy, productive, meaningful life. we all carry an idealized self-image, and, odds are, the idealized version of yourself looks hauntingly like what society expects from women as a whole.

the myth is a prison because it doesn't leave space for our humanity. for our messiness. for our unique expression. and while we are unconsciously carrying this myth, we are destined to run the hamster wheel of needing external validation. it's exhausting.

the good news is there is a way we can be liberated from the noise. in fact, it's imperative to do so if we are to truly own our sovereignty.

check out link in bio for my blog post on this topic. and for fun, here’s something from the blog post on the myth of the ideal corporate woman. what else can you add?

>> Is able to perfectly balance her full time job with child care responsibilities; women are great at multi-tasking so nothing is off limits now!
>> Has ample energy to wake up early and exercise, go to work and navigate a high pressure job, play with her children, have sex with her partner, and still have time to do some leisure reading while doing the laundry.
>> Leans in and advocates for herself in the workplace, because didn’t you know? We live in a post-feminist society where women are treated equally which means if you’re not making enough to survive it’s because you don’t want it bad enough.
>> Doesn’t menstruate. Just kidding, of course she does, but she has become an expert on never ever ever letting it impact her work. She simply man’s up and gets the job done.
>> Talks just enough to her co-workers to seem friendly… but not too much, in case it comes off as being filled with drama or being flirty. >> Is always the go getter, never letting her emotions show, just like the other guys at the office. Sure they’re allowed to be angry and frustrated and she’s not, but that’s what bathroom stalls are for. #worthywomenrise

NOTHING about what I do is impossible.
Not the food I prepare.
Not the workouts I do.
Or the fact that I’m a coach.
In fact, EVERYTHING I do has made my life better in so many ways!
I feel incredible.
I am in the best shape of my life.
I help others do the same in their lives AND earn money in the process.
And I can do it from wherever!
Like right now, I am sitting on the sidelines of my son’s baseball practice.
Just don’t think for a second that you can’t “do what I do”.
You TOTALLY can, ESPECIALLY if what I do intrigues you.
It just comes down trusting a process, believing in yourself, and taking it one day at a time.
It’s really very simple.
It’s also very powerful.
And it just might be thing you never knew you needed in your life, until you do it...JUST LIKE ME!🙋🏽‍♀️🙌🏼❤️👌🏼 #coachlifestyle #onedayatatime #makefitnessyourbusiness #neversaynever

Working on it. All the time. Every day.
It’s getting easy with the little stuff & a little harder for the big stuff. But finding my courage.
P.S. is it hump day yet?!

With Navajo Nation rallying up to vote like never before, in addition to Grand County and Cottonwood Heights (two of Utah’s bluest regions with historically high voter turn-out rates), we’re gaining momentum! We know the path to winning begins in our own communities: volunteering, canvassing, tabling, hosting events, etc. — But we need your help. Will you join us?

Digital Volunteering – Research, letter writing, digital canvassing, data entry and more. The first session will be Tomorrow, Wed. 8/15, 6:00PM – 7:45PM at Whitmore Library. Then beginning August 20th sessions will recur every Monday at the same time. If you can make it please RSVP at campaign@jamessinger.org.

Helper Arts Festival – More details coming soon. In the meantime, if you know someone in the Carbon County area, please invite them to come and meet James Singer at this year’s event. Check out the event link on our FaceBook Page and share with your friends and followers.

Canvassing – Come out with James Singer and help knock down some doors! We need as much help as we can get on Wed. 8/22 in #PleasantGrove and Fri. 8/24 in #Orem - Please RSVP on one of our Facebook event pages or send an email to campaign@jamessinger.org.

You will never do anything in this world without courage. It is the greatest quality of the mind next to honor.

Just saw the trailer for Green Book with two actors @mahershalaali @vigomortensen whose work I enjoy. This quote stood out to me because it's so true. There is much to be faced when one's directive is to effect change. #changeisgoodforthesoul #couragetochange

Getting to the emotions under our defenses is painful. No doubt about it. Opening our wounds is the only way towards healing them. Being vulnerable when one has been so hurt can be terrifying and excruciating. When we begin to do this work and we feel the sting of these emotions, we can often feel that this pain is new. We may want to run or get angry. If we can stick with it, and have good support during this process, what we come to find is that this pain has been with us all along; buried under our own protective defenses. This work helps us release our pain and finally understand why it's been there all along, reducing shame and developing emotional strength. Find out what you've been protecting against and what happened that hurt you. Process your pain. It will help you from feeling that something is "wrong" with you and that contrary to this, wrong things have happened to you. Pain can be healed when it can be felt, expressed and understood in an empathic relationship.

Knowing that what we focus on expands, what if we changed our thoughts around struggle..
We build up to what we call the struggle, until it’s ever present in our minds and conversations.
What if we planted a new seed in our thinking?
What if struggle was’t real? What if you started to change the thought? What if that means your perception of struggle shifted? What if everything started to shift because your perception shifted?

I asked you all via IG stories to share with me where you are currently experiencing feelings of unworthiness and I received so many responses... from work/career to parenting to feeling beautiful to standing strong in their voice.

we are not alone in our feelings of unworthiness.

I put together a five part series on my podcast that I am calling the Reclaiming Worth series where I will be sharing my thoughts on how we can begin to tend to our worthiness wound so we can get out of our own way.

you can listen by searching for RECLAIM with Thais Sky on iTunes or wherever you get your podcast. link is also in bio! XOOXO #worthywomenrise

How's it going today? This is my #throwbacktuesday from one of my first days living in Texas! I was still getting settled in and the excitement was more than I could contain. Riding my bike felt as freeing as I felt internally after getting out of my comfort zone and embracing the largest life change I've had to date. Over a year later I'm in the midst of more change and I'm yearning for the freedom I felt back then. Albert Einstein said, "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving”. #keepmoving What perfect advice. Life doesn't stop for you. It takes courage to keep pedaling in order to get through. If we’re lucky, we’ll catch the wind in our hair! ❤
