Ward Davis spent "15 Years in a 10 year town" before taking the stage in Phoenix Arizona. God must've been listening to my "Skeptic's Prayer" that he would join Cody Jinks on the bill. If Ward thought "Nobody Was Looking", he couldn't have been more wrong. As he belted out the first note of "Get To Work Whiskey" there was a collective Ho. Lee. Chit. that emanated through all of the "Old Wore Out Cowboys" in attendance. I think even old "Geronimo" was floored by his voice, as I heard him chant "I Got You" man, I got you. His songs seemed to be like an "Unfair Weather Friend" to all of us that crossed "The Overpass" to get to the show. Should he ever make his way back to Phoenix, there may be "No Goin' Home". We may want to keep him here in town and accept no "More Goodbye" from Mr. Davis. Ward, some may tell you "Don't Open That Door" but "I'm Not the Devil" and we'd love to see you back here on the "Last Monday in May". If you thought you "Got Effed Up At Bucks" just wait til you drink with us.
