Traditionally and in many cultures, women are expected to be quiet and even if the speak, whatever they say has to be measured cos it is believed that they're meant to accept whatever is being thrown their way and are of lesser intelligence. In spite of the evolution of man, this archaic culture that has issues against women with voices thrives.
You have a young girl who speaks her mind, has a strong personality, society is uncomfortable with that and they scold her so she can "find a husband and stay married".When a woman says the obvious, calls it by its name, hits the nail dead right on its head; it's unacceptable, sadly even to some women. Why? Cos to them, it's a man that's allowed to be bold. Seriously?! What I need to understand is that are women expected to be docile and just absorb without responding appropriately and adequately? I don't get it. No wonder the we have very many "doormats" and abuse is high. It is always about the security of the man and his ego. In 2017? Pity.
My mum tells me a reasonable man should be troubled by the silence of a woman cos the silence of a woman is a ticking time bomb. Cos that's what happens to emotions suppressed. Either she looks on, mute till you're ruined or she's quietly plotting your ruin. Simple. You gotta get those women talking and spilling their guts. Your life could depend on it.
Everyone deserves to be heard; it's a fact of life and a right to life. Yes, limitations and boundaries are to be respected but to silence some people cos of their gender is unacceptable.
