I was wondering how many sarees I might have worn this year and realised I don't have an accurate count. While most of them are here for the sake of documenting, there are a few that slipped through the lazy gaps. A rough estimate would be in the neighbourhood of forty, give or take a few. I find saree days make me happy. Like I said earlier, they add a little pretty to my days.
Maman in town and so we decided to do a round of the National Handloom Expo in my city. She was my first saree inspiration as a little girl. I would wait for her sarees that landed in the laundry bag just to drape and swirl around while imagining myself to be a beautiful princess. It used to be magical watching her get ready and the gawky youngster that I was, I just looked on in awe. Now, I'm a mommy too and wear sarees almost like her... #sareeoftheday is one of the momma's, a taant with hand jamdaani work. It's an old work saree, much worn, darned and now all mine😎. . 📷courtesy: the youngling
