Organizing pics on my TB hard drive, and this picture made me pause. I know it’s just a flower and some leaves, but I remember this day so vividly: the hike with friends that covered my whole foot in blisters, this mountain range, the beautiful mist of rain that surrounded us the entire day, this tiny town in the middle of the cloud forest, this hostel that had llamas painted on the front (and where I accidentally left my favorite bathing suit), the alone-time I spent swimming in a tiny pool that was really just a broken hot tub, the shepherds pie I ate afterward with a couple from France and two college kids from Germany, the freezing night I spent in a room with a girl I had just met two days before, the fire we started in the clay fire pit in the middle of the night because we couldn’t stop shivering, and the WONDER and blessing of it all. I don’t even remember what month it was, but I will never forget the day this photo was taken! I can’t believe that 2,000 miles and over 2 years separates me from this picture now. .
