A good like, 10 hours later one sleeve is finished. #annariettacosplay#cosplaywip#costumeconstruction Though arguably the sleeves are the most complicated part of this so finishing them first means I won't have to later 👌 I think I'll start the next sleeve tomorrow.
Two years ago today I used a sewing machine for the first time, just stitching random lines on a piece of muslin. The next year I was a costume shop assistant and constricted my entire costume for my final show at Valdosta State myself. I've come a long way ♥️ . . . #costuming#costumeconstruction#theatre#sewing#stitching
Fairy Fern Faux Fur Fun! Loving these epaulettes, although with the size of them maybe I should be calling them a collar. I found the best way to construct them was to make up the lining and backing fabrics, turning in and hand sewing the seam allowance to the inside. I then placed a cut to size piece of the fur on top and whipped round the edge sealing the raw fur edge to the folded lining. The fur is so chunky that folding the fur edges in would have been difficult and really bulky. I will then attach them by hand to the bodice neckline.
I also snuck a little bone channel along the shoulder line on the backing fabric to stop it from flopping off the shoulder.
🐧🐧🐧Look I was actually able to work on things! I hate slumps they're the worst. Anyways, I finished the shoulder armor and added the breast pieces to it. The jewel was redone and painted; the collar and leg strips were finally cut out. I then was able to fully paint the collar and started the leg strips. Once these are all done I'm gonna gloss every Armor piece to give it that nice sheen. Once all these pieces are done I just have to paint the details on the bodysuit, finish the hand sewing, and add support to the wig. I also ran into a problem with the magnets, so I now have to create a rig to go underneath the suit.🐧🐧🐧 #cosplay#evangelion30#asukalangley#asukacosplay#anime#kumoricon2017#evangelioncosplay#costumeconstruction#costume#armor#halloween
