Fun Rap Facts with Rob : 4/5. We would have broke some people if that Megasoid record came out on @ninjatune at the time. Rappers are fucking unreliable or shitty with business, but not as bad as dudes partying non-stop, throwing soundsystems in vans and fucking shit up and getting crazy fines for it. It is as much on us as on anyone else. We blew through 1/2 an advance in like 4 months on all kinds of shit. Mostly modular gear, which is what you hear on this unreleased demo.
Cory Gunz was bar-none the dopest rapper on the planet at the time. Go listen to him on the OG non-LP version of Amilli off Waynes LP, or any of his early youtube freestyles… the kid was beasting out. We were trying to produce a whole record for him when he signed to young money…. Dude should have been one to blow up, he had that Jersey style battle flow (like Joey Jihad and all them dope cats from out there) but with a Bronx flavour. I think Wayne was jealous of his talents and iced him, but who knows. Big up Carribana! (Also: re Yeezus : this is a pretty good example of the modular beats palette in use about 4-5 years before).
