Last week I had the pleasure of talking to @telegraph employees on all things food and mood related as part of #mentalhealthawareness week. With the help of the lovely ladies at @brunchgrind, we hosted a β€˜Brunch and Learn’ session where I discussed how our food choices affect our mood and stress management, and shared some simple tips on how to use everyday food as medicine to support your mood. Supporting your mental health is key and you can do it one bite at a time. So make sure you take some time to start your week off right. Enjoy a healthy breakfast. Maybe add some mackerel to your lunch. Some nuts/ nut butter to avoid those 3pm cravings. Or an extra cup of spinach to your dinner. Choose one thing to focus on ADDING IN this week and feel empowered to support your physical and mental health, one bite at a time!

I had a partner once that kept harping on about integrity. He believed he was a man of integrity.. true to his word. He was in actual fact the most delusional dishonest human with not an once of integrity in his bones. But that’s besides the point and part of my huge learning curve...
It did however make me curious about this word. This thing ..integrity. What is it.
Integrity is being true to your word.
If it say you’re going to do something or be someone.. then do it.
And do what you have to consistently without complaining until you have achieved it.. and without hurting anyone in the process.
Integrity in my view =

Big weekend? No time to meal prep breakfast?
I feel yaπŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ I returned home from a weekend of footy in Darwin late last night, paired with some small renos at my house I had none of the usual time, energy or supplies to whip up any breakfast for today. Instead of skipping (I can’t function without food) or choosing a low nutrient option I used some office staples to whip up this easy pay bowl.

There are so many options for the time poor so they can still meet their breaky needs, here are my top tips: 🍳 boil some eggs for the week and pair with a piece of fruit for on the run nourishment. You could also make some veggie frittata cups/egg cups (recipe on my website). πŸ₯£ make my overnight oats the night before or in a couple of minutes when you wake up and eat them once you are at work. β˜•οΈ pair a milky coffee with fruit and handful of nuts if you are seriously time poor, this should tie you over until an early morning tea break. 🍽 have staples at work to whip together an easy breakfast, see my story for how I whipped together this delicious oat bowl.

A small amount of forward planning goes a long way to staying healthy and even the ill-prepared (*cough* me today) can find something to nourish their body for a busy Monday.
