Yesterdays swim was on our home turf, from Perranporth to Trevaunance Cove. Kayak support by top man Jeff Hastings again. It was great to be joined in the water by Jeremy Salmon from the Truro Masters club; such a fabulous swimmer! We left Perran through some playful surf and we couldn't stop Jeff catching a couple of waves before we left. The first 2k flew by as we were helped by the current towards Cligga Head on the outgoing tide. After that, things got a bit more unpredictable and we found ourselves in some back eddies that seemed to want to take us back to Perran! Jeff reads these very well, so we worked our way round them. We stopped for several chats to look at the amazing Geology in the cliffs along the way. Such a privilege to see this from the water. We then swam into a field of jelly fish (what's the collective noun for jelly fish?) and scooped a few out of the way as we swam. We were soon in good old Aggie, covering the 4.5k in about 70 mins (including chatting), so good progress. I've now completed 80km of this years target of 230km, so making some progress towards the goal. Off to the south coast later this week for a couple of longer ones around Gorran Haven.
