Physical Therapy has really been helping me. I learned they key to any rowing exercise is to pull back with your elbows & not your arms. By doing this I'm engaging more back muscles & less bicep/forearms . Notice how Im rolling my shoulder blades back before actually pulling the bar close to my chest. & Also Notice how lightly I'm holding onto the bar. I'm basically just using my hands as hooks so that I can let my elbows take over the motion & really feel the muscle to mind connection 💡💪🏽 #TrainSmarter #FormIsEverything #ControlTheWeight #BackDay

Getting back into barbell training after a 5 month hiatus.
Did a 4 sets of 12 yesterday on front squat and 4 sets of 25/side of RFESS so my legs are a little toastie today.

4 sets of 12 today of touch and go deads. Last set here at 275. I have trouble counting.

Cable Work Combo! This is a great way to hit 3 different areas on your back. Most people judge the exercise by the amount of weight they are moving/lifting. With this combo, it’s the exact opposite. Controlling the weight on this exercise is crucial! As you control the weights with the cables, it allows you to isolate and focus on multiple areas on your upper/mid back sections. This burner combo will have your muscles begging you to stop, but when you feel the burn, you know you’re only making yourself better, so push for another rep! If your cable height can be adjusted, then start at the highest setting. If you need to create more height, then these 3 moves can be done while kneeling down on a pad as well. FOCUS ON THE SQUEEZE in your back. Try shooting for 4 sets of 8-10reps. Remember, put the pride aside, and use a weight that can be controlled.

2 leg days a week allow me to get a lot of volume on my calves. One of the my more stubborn muscles on my legs. Been progressing on weight in all different rep ranges. Seated calf raises, standing, leg press calf raises, regular and single leg. Control the weight, no bouncing, squeeze at the top, and get a full stretch at the bottom. Mix it up and record your progress so you push yourself harder. Your calves will grow don’t blame it on genetics!! Mine aren’t the best but I won’t stop working on them.

Attempted 120 after that! 🚫 #fail 😂 Felt strong this morning. I've not done any heavy lifting since Jan so pushed to failure on a pyramid set. Happy with 110 for 2! Something to build on. I find the 30kg Trap Bar better than the Straight Bar for my posture. To lift heavy with the Straight Bar I had to use alternating grips (right hand under) which I'm sure didnt do my dodgy right shoulder any favors! Heavy reverse grip BB rows. Great mass builder for the back as long as the motion is controlled. My focus is to stretch and drive my elbows back as far as possible, pulling the bar into my lower abdomen, squeezing my back at the top of the movement.
