After a Glute dominant session, we finished off with 3 sets of 10 reps each set of Back Squats.
Each set weight goes up but the reps get to 10 so don’t start high and also you need to remember you don’t need to add 5kgs or 10kgs to make it count...even 0.5kgs addition with each set is still a good addition.

It’s a learning process so throw that ego far away from the squat rack...actually just leave it at home when going to the gym, and go with an open mind whereby you’re ready to learn and apply what you have learnt with good form and progression.

An eccentric is the part of an exercise where the muscle is lengthening. Typically people go through this portion of the lift very quickly. Why? Because it hurts! However there are lots of benefits to eccentrics including:

🏋️ Increased muscle damage (good for hypertrophy/muscle gain and fat loss)

🏋️ Increases time under tension- again great for hypertrophy and fat loss .
🏋️ Teaches mind muscle connection i.e it helps you feel where you need to be contracting from

🏋️ Reduced risk of injury- it forces you to need to be able to control the weight .

So next time you train, try slowly lowering the weight around 4 seconds on push movements, and raise up around 4 seconds on pulling movements! .

With some sloth reps on the assisted chin ups machine, here it is not about the reps nor the weight. More the burning feeling you get lats. ✅Make sure to control on the way down and do not rest at the bottom, then come up and squeeze (it will hurt). If it’s easy, your going to fast. ✅Control the weight, don’t let the weight control you.
