In honor of WWI ending 100 years ago, sharing a project from 2003, which was to illuminate the positive traits of mankind. Close to 800 participants from all walks of life and all countries of the globe dipped their hand in gold acrylic paint and left a print on 11”x14” vellum. .
I set up in a myriad of places around NYC- like Port Authority to St John the Divine-over the course of 6 weeks before and during the US’ invasion of Iraq.
Gold unifies the handprints blurring the line of race, religion, nationality and gender. Here’s to the astounding spirit of mankind and each individual’s capacity for evolved consciousness towards peace!
