How many of you look like me on the left? 🙋🏻 We live in an age of technology, where everyone is always walking around hunched over with bad posture looking at our phones, completely oblivious to the world around us. But hunching over not only looks bad, it's actually very bad for our neck, back, and shoulders. I've heard this posture labeled the iHunch, and the weight of our heads in this hunching position is causing a tremendous amount of pressure on our neck.
But that's not all. It also affects us emotionally as well. If you think about it: when we are sad or depressed, we tend to slouch more. According to the New York Times: Studies have shown that people with clinical depression adopt a posture that eerily resembles the iHunch. Posture doesn’t just reflect our emotional states; it can also cause them.
So what can we do about this? Well, for one, as soon as you're done reading this, get off your phone! lol Live in the moment, be confident, remember that YOU are awesome and carry yourself with that attitude. Make a change in your posture and confidence, and you will drastically change the way you are perceived! ❤
