Many people pride themselves in their ability to spot CGI in movies. They claim it looks fake and takes away from the cinematic experience. In fact, CGI is one of the reasons the ‘Star Wars’ prequel trilogy is so terrible. But the truth is CGI technology is advancing at a ridiculous rate. Japanese artists Teruyuki Ishikawa and Yuka Ishikawa created an extremely realistic computer-generated schoolgirl named Saya. The line between fiction and reality is blurring. There’s no telling what CGI will accomplish next. It's time to venture into the uncanny valley.
