Workin on these killers!! Going for 225lbs by August 4th!!

185lb x 8. I did hit 200 x 5 on my first day back on these. Sumo deadlifts are becoming one of my all time favorite lifts. It works wonders and is responsible for changing the body with the amount of force you can produce! Your lifting face, double chin, and noises may not be as beautiful as mine but who cares. 😜

📝 Using an overhand and underhand grip at shoulder width apart and the barbell sitting over the shoelaces (I don’t wear shoes unless they have a flat sole) - point your toes out at 45 degrees, tuck your tail underneath you and MAKE SURE YOU HINGE, squeeze your shoulder blades together and pack those lats, and lastly keep your chin tucked. Let er’ rip! Take your first few weeks to lay down your form until it starts to make sense to you.

The strict barbell press was a heavy 3x5, with 1-3 minutes rest in between, whereas the circuit, which consisted of 3 rounds, was Dumbbell Goblet Shoulder Presses, Side lateral raises, and Incline Rear Delt Rows with NO REST in between each exercise, doing a heavy 8-12 reps, curiosity of @flylike_a_g6 !!

🧠 Help me name this exercise 🧠

In the exercise below I’m essentially performing a goblet squat with a single-arm row. The beauty about this movement is that you’re constantly engaging your glutes, quads and core, while firing up your lats. I want you guys to comment and give me ideas to name this exercise 🤔

I’m always on the hunt for new exercises (especially those involving multiple muscle groups) that put me outside my comfort zone. The idea is to find weak spots and then convert them into areas of strength. I’ve always preached performing compound movements because you are able to move more weight than isolation exercises and thus better progressively overload your muscles. This results in burning more calories, faster muscle growth and increased strength 👊🏽

Hard to say whether @austincagley thought he knew where I was headed or if he just couldn’t handle another rep 🤔😂 but this #smotd is next level compound goodness and Austin rocks either way 💪🏼
🔹remember the transitions are part of the work, take your time and hit every position in a controlled, purposeful manner.
🔹make sure you drop right into a lunge after you draw the knee toward your chest and pick up the weights. Be sure you maintain proper posture.
🔹choose a weight that is challenging but doable for 8 reps each side.

Feeling pretty fatigued today and a bit tight from yesterday’s session. Completing another 2 warm up sets 3 x 10 working sets of squats at 65kg... after a heavy day yesterday with squats of 80kg today was def tough. Still progressing though with technique, just need to fix the bottom part... Heading into week 4 of programming.. ready to set some PB in testing in a months time.
