Question: who needs their cup of morning coffee every day, like me? 🙋🏻♀️☕️ One of my favorite things is getting a coffee or latte to start my day! What I don’t love, is how quickly calories and sugar can add up when buying coffee out!
My favorite tips and tricks to cutting down on calories and added sugar when ordering coffee out:
1) Skip the Whip! If you order something that usually comes with whipped cream, ask for it without! This can save you 50-100 calories on your drink!
2) Ask for it skinny. When you ask for a skinny drink, they automatically use non-fat milk and sugar free syrups when making the drink.
3) If you’re not a dairy drinker, often times the non-dairy alternatives (almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk) have a little sweetness to them. Skip the syrup and have just a latte with your milk of choice!
4) If you’re not a fan of sugar free, here’s my trick to still getting flavor without all that sugar - ask the barista to make your drink with half the normal pumps of syrup! ✨
For example, with fall officially a few days away, festive drinks are a must 🍂 🍁 The added sugar, not so much. The salted caramel mocha (grande at Starbucks) has 4 pumps of toffee nut and 4 pumps of mocha syrup 😱 that’s 8 pumps of syrup! When ordering this festive drink, ask for half the pumps!
Lastly, most places have nutrition information available online if you’re interested in seeing what’s in your favorite morning cup of joe 💕
