When was the last time you tried something new and exciting? (Or maybe terrifying...) 💁🏼♀️😅
We are creatures of habit and for most of us, it eases our minds to have routine, to have comfort, so that our nervous system can chill and believe it’s ‘safe.’ However, it’s good to switch things up and keep that mind of ours guessing by adding new experiences, therefore different neural pathways in the brain by trying something out the norm.
It doesn’t have to be massive, just a lil switch up, like deciding to get up half an hour earlier in the mornings, changing the cafe you always go to, take a different route to work or trying a new form of movement.. This morning, I went to my norm cafe @espressobonsai , but I was pleasantly entertained by some jazz music as I waited for the bulletproof coffee I’d ordered. I asked for the playlist and found myself listening to jazz whilst I checked the surf and watched the sets roll in; with the sun on my face, I thought what a great new experience! Considering I’m always listening to some kind of rnb, this was an unusual but epic switch up for me.
