The Bat Eared Fox.... I guess one can see where it got the name from... One of my favourite of the fox species and hoping to one day see a youngster as they must be adorable. They don't traditionally walk around much during daylight and this was a more unusual sighting. They like the drier regions of Eastern and Southern Africa and in this case were seen on Kulala Wilderness Reserve near Sossusvlei. Their diet mostly consists of invertebrates and they are especially fond of termites. Some farmers believe that the Bat Eared Fox thereweith plays a vital role in controlling the termite population which are considered a pest. .
