Upside down will remain my favorite perspective. And everything looks so funny 😆Balance is hard work, whether it is standing on my head, getting my skin into a healthy balance or balance between my actions and my beliefs. I don’t like when things get too orthodox nowadays. I try to enjoy. My biggest concern about skincare and beauty products is to keep balance between functional, fun and ethical. The ethical part is the hardest. Balance usually is about doing less. In yoga the perfection of an asana is said to occur when the effort of performing it becomes effortless. With skin it is probably wiser to use one exfoliating product instead of several. Cleansing once a day instead of two. Using less stuff. ———————-
Got interested in skincare cus of my teenage acne (heard that narrative before? 🙃). Reading product labels, books by dermatologists and articles eventually lead me to start worrying about wrinkles and ageing at 20 years of age!! On a trip to Thailand I covered my whole body in SPF 50, put on a pyjamas (kind of), a hat, large sunglasses and placed myself under and umbrella at the beach reading a book called “Your Future Face”. It makes me laugh now. Clearly that was not balance. Worrying too much about what to come means missing out on what is happening. And, I don’t want to miss out on the FUN 🤸♀️
What is balance to you?
