Early morning on the water, watching life unfold.
Cars passing to and from, holding anxious passengers, everyone eager to start the day ahead. Some wear a coat of cheerfulness, others, a shadow of despair. .
I see women taking their little ones to school, it makes me think of my days as a student and the future where I'll take my own little one to school, it's a bittersweet thought.
My eyes wander I little further to the people working on the board, I consider what their lives are like. Whether or not they are content,I'm cannot say.
Finally I notice two boys, no older than perhaps fifteen, I'll plead ignorance here for my own age has distorted my compass, they could be older or younger; these boys were challenging each other to a race. They were speeding down the length of the beach, it seemed in those few seconds, nothing mattered but winning that race. I only noticed them after I took the photo and you can barely see them kneeling in position.
The prompt is color splash and it's present in two ways.
One, in the obvious and visual way the colors of the structures stand out against a dreary cloudy morning.
Two in a way by looking at the lighthearted kids racing on the beach when everything around them looks so busy and reserved. .
It reminds me that life should NEVER be taken too seriuosly, break out in song, dance, race, do whatever brightens your day!
