3:06 a.m., 4/21/18 These photos are unedited.
At 2:15 a.m. I took my dog outside. The sky was lit with a deep reddish orange color. We had some snow tonight and this huge red-orange cloud mass was slowly moving sw, over the top of my house. It looked like flames were on the mountain as it drifted away. The first photo is an exact representation of what it looked like in real time, unfiltered. It was that colorful. 45 minutes later, the clouds begin to lose the reddish hue. They are becoming bright and white, as happens with a typical snowfall.
This also happened a few months ago. Both times, we were receiving a much needed snowfall (it's very dry here), and the snow stopped within several minutes of the clouds changing colors from white to red. We also heard the loud engine of a jet going over, last time, and this time. (I'm a weekend night owl). Please explain bright red-orange clouds to me, that last for a short amount of time, and have come with two snowfalls. Read the words of the third photo. Credit of this snapshot goes to NASA. *Update, 3:30 a.m...outside my windows are opaque red-orange. Video attached. A reddish orange fog has moved in. There are cars on the road. Other people must be seeing this. Do they notice, or just keep driving through orange fog like everything is okay? My dog came in from a three minute walk through the yard panting like she had ran three miles, my mouth feels like I've chewed on chalk flavored cotton balls with chest feeling heavy and tight, and my four year old just woke up out of breath and asking for a drink. We live on the side of a mountain, away from the city lights, and these two occurrences are the only times that we've had red clouds with snow.
I can't think of any natural phenomena to explain this garbage. I'M DONE.
