If you could give us any dating advice, what would it be?
I was probably the worst dater ever. In typical #Enneagram7 fashion, anytime anything got hard, I totally bailed. Almost every dating relationship wrapped up in about three months. I loved the romantic idea of marriage and “love” but the thought of commitment literally made me feel like I was suffocating.
If I could go back and talk to my pre-married self, I’d tell her this very thing. Don’t worry so much about the dates and the future, just be a good steward of someone else’s heart. Have fun. Point them to Jesus. So at the end of it, whether it ends in happily ever after or see ya later, you can say to each other “I’m better for knowing you.” _______________________________________________________
Until you’re married, you’re really hanging out with someone who may belong to someone else in the future. So, respect that. Celebrate that. And embrace every awkward, sweet, hard moment of the dating season.
Please ignore how many times I say “like” 🙈 and go check out the full video on @ellielacey’s page! Link is in her bio.
But seriously— what’s YOUR best dating advice? What questions do you have as you’re trying to navigate your way through dating?
