I never post transformation Tuesday mostly bc I forget about them. Partly bc I don’t have many pictures of my past bc I deleted a lot of them during my recovery. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have seen a lot of people post about their ED recovery on here lately and I feel like mine was different than a lot of the ones I see. A lot of people post about how macros and exercise helped them a lot in recovery. And that’s great for them. Nothing against them, but that’s not how I recovered. It never would have worked for me. I also never went inpatient. Yes I was hospitalized for a week, but that’s it. I used a nutritionist and psychiatrist and that was it. I didn’t exercise for over a year. I wasn’t allowed to choose what I wanted to eat and how much. My parents did all that for me. It was hard to not be able to control my food. In my recovery, all my control was taken away. It’s funny that that worked for me since EDs are all about control 🤔. I was weight restored for a while and gained a lot of weight and then went on the opposite spectrum of binging. I was ashamed. How could I, let myself binge after I had so much self control at the beginning of my ED? I was ashamed. But honestly I’m so glad it happened that way bc now I’m in such a great place. I had to go to the opposite end of the spectrum to get to my middle happy place. It took a lot of work to get here. I never thought recovery was truly possible. I thought it was a whole bunch of boloney. But I’m here to tell you it’s possible. It might take you a bit longer or a bit shorter or you might do it in a totally different way than anyone you’ve ever seen do it, but it’s possible. Lots of tome and trial and error but it’s possible. You’re gonna wanna give up but that’s when you have to give it your all. Keep fighting. 💜

My All-Time Favorite Way To Sweat ⤵️

• |TIPS FOR RUNNERS, OR THOSE WHO WANT TO GET INTO RUNNING| •

Growing up as a sprinter I always told my coach, no more than one lap for me. 🙅🏼‍♀️ Now, I currently ENJOY (ya I know, I’m psycho) running 6 miles for fun and am thinking about doing a a half marathon. Running is my escape, stress reliever, and a time I get to listen to mah jams 🎶 I will say running is not for everyone but here are some tips that help me through these longer runs! •

| You don’t HAVE TO do anything, set a goal mileage for the day, and if you are not feeling it, stop - try not to get hung up on a number | •
•| STAY IN TUNE with the mile you’re in, don’t think about how many more you have, think about the pace, and how your legs are doing. Last mile was crappy? This next one is a fresh start! Get after it and give yourself a pat on the back, you made it this far!

•|Get them tunes out! This is your time to catch up on the latest hits! There are some AWESOME hour long remixes out there on YouTube that keep you pumped up and going for miles! | •
•|FUEL your body, get that high carb pre-workout snack or meal in before walking out the door- you’ll notice how much longer you can train fueled rather than fasted | •
•| Start short and slow, .25 of a mile? GREAT! Add a quarter each week, set some goals and challenge yourself! | •
•| WALK, yes you heard me, taking breaks to walk is not frowned upon, keep moving keep that heart rate up and you’re heading down the right path!| •
•| Invest in some GOOD QUALITY SHOES, if you listen to anyone take if from the girl who had two stress fractures in her shins and iced 3 times a day during track seasons. Your bones NEED the cushion, your knees, shins and feet will thank you for it! |

• | HYDRATE 17-20 ounces of water 2 hours before hand or 7-10 ounces 10-15 minutes before! Sweating is a thing so make sure you replenish your body with electrolytes and fluid ( 16-24 ounces for every pound lost throughout the run) | ••

Here’s a little #transformationtuesday for ya. The picture on the left was taken 5 years ago 🤯 I was about 97lbs at the time. I wasn’t too athletic back then, I didn’t eat right, and I didn’t strength train. The only exercise I got was cardio from competitive cheerleading. .

⭐️NOW: I weigh roughly around 112 lbs (it fluctuates), I eat more, I eat healthier, and I strength train consistently each week.

🌸 I think this post really goes to show you just how misleading the scale can be sometimes. Lower weight doesn’t necessarily mean better or healthier. I personally think now that I have reached a healthier weight, I not only feel better but I am much more confident about my body too. The main takeaway I want people to get from this is that you shouldn’t focus too much on what the scale says. So what if you gain a couple pounds. Being at your lowest weight doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to be at your healthiest or best physique. Take care of yourself & listen to your body!! Food is fuel 🍿🍣🌮🥙🔥🔥 so don’t restrict yourself from it simply because you don’t like that number that shows up on the scale. Love yourselves 💕💕💕 .

I sometimes superset my tricep rope pull down with this ab exercise. Make sure you tighten your abs the whole time while doing the exercise so your abs are doing the work. I usually do a heavier weight between 45-60pnds. #abs #doyoueven

I ended my junior year of college and went into the summer with absolutely zero energy from having poor nutrition, workout, self love and self care habits in the winter and spring. I let work and academics take over, put myself on the back burner, and I suffered. Sound familiar to anyone? After 2 month’s of being SUPER focused on how I could get “better,” I have decided this week is my week to start the hustle again. I’m done spending days or hours “resting.” I’m done being sick and tired and unable to live my life to the fullest. I’m ready to get back up again, and I know fueling my body with HEALTHY foods and pushing it for a small portion of my day each and every day will help me become me again. 6 BBG, cardio, or PWR workouts a week, 30 minutes a day. Being on POINT with my OWN personal hydration and nutritional goals. And allowing myself to rest for 7+ hours a night, after a good and fulfilling day is done. 6 weeks total, one day at a time. DAY 2/56.
I told my arms to flex but they had other ideas...😂 if you’re completing this program you know what I’m talking about! Today was ALL weight lifting and then abs and let me tell you that weight lifting is no FREAKING joke. My arms are PURE jello and I am so thankful 🙏🏻 that this program has a rest day built in for tomorrow! 🙌🏻 I NOW understand WHY [because to be honest I didn’t understand before]😳 (we will be too sore 😆). Today is Day 1.

You may not be able to see a ton of changes but trust me they’re there. While I definitely don’t have a 6-pack or 2 percent body fat, I’ve made huge progress! The biggest thing I see is a night and day different attitude towards my mental health!
On the left I’m burnt out, stressed, and exhausted all the time. My skin constantly broke out and my hair stayed unhealthy looking.

Flash forward to today and I’m happy in my own skin!! I’ve watched how I fuel my body and have learned to listen for signs that I need a break.

So now that my inside and attitude are in the right place, it’s time to crush some fitness goals 💪😎

Time for a puke post even though this photo is from yesterday. What I mean by that is that what I’m about to say makes me so anxious that I could puke, but.....I canceled my gym membership today. Yep, that’s right. Me, Ashlie, canceled her gym membership today. (Still have until next month to use it, but it’s okay) I’ve always been a gym goer for the last 4ish years and it’s kinda been my safety net. People have seen me as the girl who hits the gym all the time and effs shit up and well, everyone comments on my hamstrings lol and so it became part of my identity. I haven’t been lifting heavy (for me) in about a year) and I’ve still made a TON of improvement. But honestly, I’ve been getting tired of the gym. Having to drive there, having to deal with douche bags and fake snarky barbies and nasties, and just not feeling it once I get there. No matter how much I switched up my lifting/workouts I just couldn’t get into it. So I canceled it and decided to go with what I KNOW will work as long as I trust the process because I know I trust the workouts. Here’s to spending at least the next three months with my Netflix of workouts and not having to leave my house to make these gains, and the free meal plans are an added bonus. Though I’m anxious because it’s not my normal, I’m pretty freaking excited to see what awaits.
