This was the caption of one of my mentors’ videos this week (um, yeah, did I mention we get pep talks daily in this biz?). And while this is an important concept, so many of us waste our time anyway. .

We scroll through FB and Insta looking for inspiration, or we binge Netflix shows. Don’t get me wrong—sometimes taking a mental break is GOOD and NEEDED. But the other times...???

Stop wasting your time. I wasted my time for three years of my undergrad—I was gaining weight and unhappy with my body but it took me THREE YEARS to officially take control and reclaim my life. .
.
And even then, when I had all the tools in front of me, it STILL took me a minute to get serious. To realize that consistency and showing up EVERY DAY is the only true way to see progress. .
.
Stop wasting your time on NOT DOING ANYTHING. Stop making excuses, stop talking yourself out of the things you want, and fricken DO THE DAMN THING ALREADY. Won’t your future self thank you for getting started sooner? .

Still sore from yesterday but also feeling STRONGER! Getting back from this cold makes me want to kick my booty in gear and work even harder! 💪🏻 I challenged myself to go heavier when I was using weights because If I didn’t I wouldn’t be making the progress I would want to - It’s all about pushing limits and working to make your mind just as strong as your body, if not stronger 💗🙌🏻 Mindset. Is. Everything. I read something yesterday that’s stuck with me and I want to share it..the idea of it was that if we go into a weight loss program or journey (anything really) thinking of the process as a burden, like a chore, and that it’s not fun..that’s what it’s going to be, bottom line. BUT if you go into it with an open mind and confidence, you’ll more than likely enjoy the experience and get something beneficial out of it. I know this was long but if you’re still reading, I appreciate you. Thank you for supporting me and for taking the time to take in what I’m trying to put into the world 🙏🏻❤️ .

Got up before class to get a sweat sesh💦 in, so I could utilize my 2&1/2 hour break to get shizz done. Earlier AM workouts def aren’t my fav, but I will say imma fan of the dead💀 rec center😎.

Really nothing else to say🤷🏼‍♀️ just out here getting done what needs to get done. First exam of sophomore year tomorrow, and imma crush it😎 (let’s just hope lol🙈).

THROWBACK THURSDAY🙈

Throwback to my 21st birthday! Some people say these are the best years of your life. In this picture I was genuinely happy. I was excited to finally go out, I was living in a new place and making new friends. I felt like I was on top of the world. Little did I know everything was about to fall apart.

For me, 21 was the worst year of my life and it’s honestly surprising I made it through. I’m going to keep it honest with you guys, I 110% hit a rough patch. There was a point where it was just one thing after another (when it rains it pours). When I lost my dad I started to use drinking to cope. I thought that going out would make me feel better and forget everything, but in the end I would just wake up feeling worse. I almost dropped out of college after my first semester to move back home and be with my family. I didn’t know how to handle myself, I didn’t know how to talk about my feelings, I didn’t feel like I had anyone to talk to that truly understood what I was going through.

Today I turn 22! It’s so amazing how one year can change everything. I feel like in this past year I have had to overcome so much and it has only made me stronger. 21 definitely had its ups and downs. A year full of extreme heartache, emotion, tears, a few too many drinks.... but also new memories, knowledge, and the best friends I could ever ask for💕 This is going to be my year!

The skull is by far my favorite bone of the entire skeleton. Everything below it, is basic 💁‍♀️

KILLED my workout today in such a short amount of time. i have so much going on today but i knew i had to get a workout in so i did a full body HIIT workout and i feel greaaat 🤩(already excited for tomorrow’s workout !?) mini rant time: something i hear a TON is “i don’t have time to workout !!! :(“ of course, everyone gets busy and life happens and you get tired and working out just doesn’t happen. it’s totally okay to have rest days and take some time for yourself BUT everyone has the same 24 hours in the day — its all about what you do with it. it’s so easy to come up with a bunch of excuses about why you didn’t work out, but you’ll never say “darn i totally wish i didn’t go to the gym today” so push yourself a bit - even if it means waking up an hour early to get that sweat in and boost your energy, or wearing your gym clothes to class so you can squeeze it in before a night of extracurricular and studying 🌟🌞 you’ll be happy ya did it!!

If I could tell my 15 year old self anything, it’d be to.. -breath a little deeper
-laugh a little harder
-love yourself a little more
-be a little nicer
-stress A LOT less
-live in the *moment*

bc life is too short to not truly |L I V E| it in the best way possible!

back and shoulders comin’ at ya on this excellent thursday morning 🤪 woke up feeling like a million bucks for some reason so I had to go hit my favorite 2 muscle groups. gonna keep it short today because i’ve got another exam in a bit but SAVE dis for mega boulder shoulder pumps and to build some wingz 👐

1. seated DB shoulder press 5x10-12
2. DB single arm row 4x10
3. bent over supported rear delt fly 3x10
4. front raises 3x10
5. external rotations 3x15
↳ SS bent over barbell row 3x10
6. lateral raise rest pause 3 sets (video sped up so you can see the whole thing - pick a light weight and go to failure, rest 15 seconds then go to failure again, rest 15 more seconds, and go to failure. thanks @yourfitgirlem for this idea - this is a new staple!)

all of my lifts lately have been so much fun since starting personal trainer prep. integrating everything we learn there has made it feel super rewarding and i’m so so excited for the rest of the semester. everything we do and learn really reignites something in me and makes me realize the passion i have for all of this is much bigger than i ever understood which is both exciting and scary. HUGE shoutout to @caseynicole_fit for being the cutest and most knowledgeable small group leader! she’s doing some really badass things and it’s super inspiring ❣️ happy thursday everyone only 1.5 more days till the weekend thank goodness 🌞

It’s crazy how much or how little you can accomplish in a days time. I remember this past summer my days were literally filled with get up, go to the gym, and figure out something to do because idk what to do🙈 My days definitely went a lot S L O W E R.

Well that’s definitely no longer the case. Finding something to do is the LEAST of my worries. Now I’m at the point where I wish there were more hours in the day😅.

But honestly, having something to do is better than nothing. I’d rather be busy than bored🤷🏼‍♀️ It definitely makes you feel a lot more accomplished at the end of the week, than if I would just sit around and do nothing. (That’s not even an option at this point tho lol😂).

The week is as long or as short as you make it Friends. Can’t believe it’s already Wednesday😳 but we out here grinding and getting 💩 done. Hope your week is going well, cause we’re half way through!!! Happy Hump🐫 Day Friends!
