Kamonegi Seattle! Cozy neighbourhood spot serving up house-made soba noodles and tempura. I had their signature dish, kamonegi #zarusoba (duck and green onion dipping broth with cold soba noodles) in #5. Dad got the shrimpcado bukkake noodles in photo #1 (yeah, laugh it up, it's a legitimate word). In #2 are broiled #shishito peppers with spicy #codroe aioli, #3 - more ebi-ten because I didn't get any on my dish, #4 a #geoduck #yuzu jelly avocado salad which was a big highlight of the meal, so fresh and bright, #5 #kamonegi, and finally #6 a scoop of ice cream on #sakekasu mochi cake and a drizzle of #shiokase caramel. Overall this place was a delight. Flavours were subtle more often than bold and the menu was full of interesting items you don't see often. Expect around $10-$12 for appetizers and $20-24 for mains (US dollars, so adjust accordingly). Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. Nice to go to a restaurant that specializes in things that most places generalize about - well worth the visit.
