Coaching has changed me, for good and for the better. Performing and telling stories now is very surreal. It connects me to who I was before, and yet the songs feel new and different meanings unfold inside of me. Finding what I am meant to communicate now means I must connect deeply with myself before I offer new music to you β™₯️ #coachthyself #walkthewalk

Some times we need to think about the advice we share with others and apply it to our own lives. To get out of y funk today I did what I'd tell my clients to do - change your scenery, get outside, go for a run, call a friend. 6 mikes later I was shaking the funk! #runningmom #vitamind #coachthyself #lovetorun

#mergehealthcoach confession. We started a NEW routine this year with my eldest starting school and myself starting work rather than study. A HUGE CHANGE for our family. Instrumental in this change however has been my use of coaching skills and strategies for everything from getting my daughter to eat breakfast (I'll do another post about that) to keeping healthy meals going, lunch boxes to #mummawellness! This has included my normal exercise routine being thrown out the window due to time and taking quite a while to find my groove again in a busy week. A key to re-establishing this properly has been setting a #SMARTgoal for myself with what is Specific, Measueable, Action-based, Realistic and Timely. I have to change things a few times, nor does it always work to plan but KNOWING exactly what I want to achieve and HOW each week keeps me accountable and motivated. Amazing weather in Chicagoland! Ran 5 miles on the prairie trail. A few trees budding green, but mostly dry, brown prairie grass against super blue skies. It was a bit like coming home. Day 9 of my Ultimate Reset journey and I am feeling optimistic. My body is responding well to this gentler state of being. The sunrise was breathtaking as my son woke me up bright and early... anticipating the drive to come. Busy? Always. Do you take a moment to stop and "smell the roses", ever? Don't underestimate just how important it is to our health to not only be aware of and manage stress, but embrace gratitude, breathe and just take a moment to sense everything around you. So, have made it - halfway through the school holidays!!!! Friday night and some time to attend #mummawellness. Muchly needed to make it through week 2! Part of our family wellness is mumma being a couple of steps ahead on meal prep on most days......I also have a new routine involving work but it just means a bit more forethought to stick to our #realfood goals. On those days I keep it simple. Yesterday 4:30 - one large organic chicken opened with kitchen scissors to speed up cooking time, herbs, garlic and lemon. Oven with another tray of root veges. One hour for homework, outside play and baths. 5:30 stemmed greens and dinner by 5:45. LOTs of veg to ensure there is leftover chicken for 1 school lunch and two adult salads (with left over root veges to) and enough protein still left for three serves of stir fry on evening two (served with rice for kids and baked sweet pot for me).
