you guys asked.... so here is my best + very favorite trick to keeping those brassy tones out of my hair between hair appointments!
PUT PURPLE SHAMPOO IN YOUR DRY HAIR --- all you need is strong purple shampoo & a good conditioner, so you're not drying out your hair.
the purple shampoo I use is Shimmer Lights, which I linked to this picture. I would also test out the purple shampoo you are using before putting it in your hair dry, because some will leave a blue-ish/purple tint in your hair (depending on your hair type).
this process is messy, so I generally will put the shampoo in my hair while standing in the tub with a little mirror. your husband might think you're crazy... just wait until you walk out of the bathroom looking like an Oompa Loompa while you're letting it sit in your hair but he'll get over it. 😂🤷🏼♀️
when applying the shampoo, I'll do it in layers starting with the bottom first because it generally needs it the most. once I've covered my whole head, I'll put a shower cap on & leave it in anywhere from 10-15 minutes (this is the part where you'll scare your husband). once you've let it sit, just jump in the shower & wash it out, then apply conditioner.
in this picture, I am putting the purple shampoo mainly on my roots because they're what I needed toning most -- & sometimes I'm lazy. if I only tone my roots, I'll apply purple shampoo to the rest of my hair in the shower when it's wet.
& when I'm REALLY lazy or don't have time, I'll just hop in the shower & wash my hair with purple shampoo twice. #rinseandrepeat --- you can find instructions on that process on the bottle, though it's pretty self explanatory.
hopefully this answers most of your guys' questions --- please comment any questions you have below. ALSO, feel free to send me any Oompa Loompa pictures you guys take 💜😂 http://liketk.it/2rRcM #liketkit @liketoknow.it
