A few weeks ago, I couldn't even get off the ground on this 5.11a unless I did some crazy acro ballet move in the beginning. It also starts off with a weird traverse near the ground. 😛 Once upon a time, everything seemed so reachy the whole way up, and I couldn't even make it pass half way even if I took multiple takes. I remember this route being so exhausting and difficult. Well, when I climbed it today, it felt so easy, and I didn't even need all the holds. 😄 This is what progress feels like. Yay. .
I also tried leading my first 5.11 (the one in my last post), and kind of didn't make it up all the way and missed last two out of ten clips (no matter what anyone says, leading is always harder than just top roping 😂). But, while attempting to lead the route, I did take two falls, which was good for me. I've never taken a real lead fall ever (in- or outdoors) because I'm actually scared of falling and don't lead or follow anything too hard. I need to lead more challenging routes and get used to falling. I'm not sure if I ever will, but I can only try. 😝
