Main Street Arts turns 5 today — we opened our doors to the public on June 19, 2013! We thank you for your support of over 70 exhibitions held on two floors, the launch of our artist residency program, and countless artist talks, film screenings, workshops and other events!

Stop by the gallery on Friday, June 29 from 6 to 8 pm to see what artists in residence Dain Gore of Phoenix, Arizona and Scott McMahon of Columbia, Missouri have been working on during their residencies. It’s also the final day to catch the Land & Sea exhibition before it comes to an end.

As the month comes to an end, so has Marisa Boyd’s residency at Main Street Arts. While she was here she responded to her surroundings and translated her experience in Clifton Springs directly into the body of work she produced. Follow her at @artsymars to keep up with her work.

“Land and Sea is an exhibit inspired by nature, by water and earth and the places in between. It includes artwork that evokes the smell of damp soil, the feel of soft moss, and the coolness of rain and mist. Landscapes feature the vibrant colors of summer and the more muted shades of cooler weather. Sculptures trigger beach memories, from shells to driftwood…” —Deirdre Aureden
