Jeremiah 33:8. Thankfully, we serve a forgiving God who is willing to forgive our sins and cleanse us from the dirty stain that sin leaves on us. Sin marks us as unclean and contaminates us by leaving us feeling ashamed, embarrassed, and guilty for what we have done. Despite our sin, we are not permanently separated from God because of Jesus's sacrifice that paid for all our sins and makes it possible for us to be forgiven by God. There is nothing we can do by ourselves to earn forgiveness. No amount of good deeds, following rules, or begging for forgiveness can convince God that He should forgive us and cleanse us from our sins. The only thing we can do is accept and receive what Jesus has already done for us. Only when we receive salvation by believing in Jesus and professing our faith can we confess and repent of our sins. Confessing and repenting of our sins in Jesus's name is the only way that God will cleanse us and forgive us for sinning. We all want to be pure so that we can have a restored and full relationship with God, so we must believe in Jesus, confess our sins, and repent. Our repentance lead by the Holy Spirit plus Jesus's sacrifice equals forgiveness and cleansing of sin by God.
