Recent heavy rotation!😍
1. Woods of Ypres- Against the Seasons: Cold winter songs from the dead summer heat.
Got really into this band's final two albums about two years ago and for some reason, I never explored their back catalogue! This has a black metal feel to it, much unlike the doom sound to their later work. Check out: The shams of optimism, Crossing the 45th parallel, The sea of immeasurable loss, Awaiting the inevitable.
2. Claypool-Lennon Delirium- Monolith of Phobos.
The song Boomerang baby just popped into my head a week ago and just like that, back in love with the album! Classic Claypool sound with Sean Lennon's familiar vocal sound. Check out: Boomerang baby, Mr. Wright, Oxycontin girl, Breath of a salesman.
3. Bad Religion- New Maps of Hell (Deluxe).
Growing up on Tony Hawk games, I knew Bad Religion young, and up until a week or so ago, never actually delved into their whole albums. Love this one, it's full of catchy songs, great riffs, that iconic Bad Religion three-part harmony, and well, I just love it. Check out: New dark ages, Requiem for dissent, Scrutiny, Honest goodbye (the whole album honestly).
4. Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats- Blood Lust.
I love old school, gloomy, bluesy metal, like early Sabbath. Combine that with the vocals of John Lennon and voila! Sounds straight out of the early 70s! Absolutely love these guys! Check out: Death's door, Over and over again, I'll cut you down, 13 Candles.
