Well Toronto, that’s a wrap. Forgive me for the long post it’s hard to say goodbye…..
Thank you Toronto for being my home for the last 20 years. For giving me my first career at Eaton's. For blessing me with my baby, Bear. For allowing red heads to live in peace & celebrate freckles. Thank you Toronto for giving me an incredible group of friends and community who became family. For bringing out my assertiveness & giving me the "balls" to start my own business. For creating a great network & friendships that will last a lifetime. Thank you Toronto for giving me the Jays, Bautista's bat flip and Pillar's Superman dives. For the heart break of the Leafs. My bashing of being a Kessel fan, at least someone's cup runneth over. Thank you Toronto for a crazy housing market that caused so many tears in the early years, and in the end provided an opportunity to create a home. For giving me my nightly news fix on City TV with the best duo, Mark Dailey and Kathryn Humphreys. For JoJo Chintoh for my crime reports.
Thank you Toronto for filming Degrassi and Suits here, and for my stalking of Harvey Spector. For the film festival and more opportunities to feed my celebrity obsession. For so many theatres and concert venues, for letting me say Hello to Adele and Bono reminding me it's a Beautiful Day. For giving us amazing talent - Drake, Barenaked Ladies, Rush & Blue Rodeo. For adopting Gord Downie and emancipating Justin Bieber. Thank you Toronto for the best restaurants, diversity in food and embracing other cultures. For the 10lbs from the gourmet donut shops, and ice cream places where food dreams do come true. For the shops that fill my closet and Yorkdale for restoring the magic of Christmas with Fashion Santa. Thank you Toronto for amazing schools and resources for the boys. For the tourist sights and the feeling of pride and happiness every time the CN tower comes into view. For persevering during crazy political times and preparing us for crazier times with our southern neighbours. For Norm Kelly who is our Joe Biden.
For being part of Canada and proudly declaring "I am Canadian". Thank you Toronto for allowing me to call you home.
