I think this little pattern is my very favorite of the entire collection. I took a bit of influence from the scrapbooking market which digitally collages all kinds of patterns and objects together.⠀
I took all of my little bits and bobs that I cut out and digitally collaged them together into small groupings. Then I did a bit of cross stitch work on a bit of paper, photographed it, cleaned it up in photoshop, vectorized it and used it in this pattern. There are actually several of those little squares of stitches because your eye can always catch when you've just used the same image over and over again. The actual repeat is about 16 x 12 squares. I'm also going to do a simpler version with single elements which will allow me to enlarge them. I want to see which I prefer. (Maybe I'll do a poll post later in the week?)⠀
This week I'm going to be sharing images from my first brief for the @victoriajohnsondesign Create Christmas class. The color pallete for this brief was very warm and soft and focused on some of the more sophisticated market trends. I wish I could show you the moodboard - it was beautiful!⠀
I spent the first part of the week creating sketches and motifs, painting and collaging not sure where it was all going. I wound up with quite a bit of finished work and enough elements for even more. I hope you enjoy the collection!
