I have always loved the story of Hannah praying for a child. Many times we have asked God fopr something important - like a child. Sometimes we don't feel or see that God is listening to us. But He does. He always knows what is best for us and what is the right time for Him to give us his answer.

Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.” She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast. - 1 Samuel 1: 17 - 18

Finishing up the book of Ruth today. I love how this interesting woman is apart of Jesus' lineage. “The Lord bless you, my daughter,” he replied. “This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor. -Ruth 3:10

Made a mistake on this page and I fixed it by covering it with acrylic paint and stickers. The first part of this verse was not spoken to God but it has been my prayer to him many times. “May I continue to find favor in your eyes, my lord,” she said. “You have put me at ease by speaking kindly to your servant—though I do not have the standing of one of your servants.” - Ruth 2:13

I think this is one of the most well known verses in the Bible. I know it is among my favorite! But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. - Ruth 1:16

I had so much fun stamping and watering coloring Ruth in my Bible that I decided to put her in my Prayer and Praise journal as well. I will use this page to take notes as I study the book of Ruth.

Do you have an actual journal you write your thoughts, prayers or just make special notes in? I will admit I don't use my journal enough.

This week I am starting the book of Ruth. This is one of my favorite books in the Bible.

But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. - Ruth 1:16 via @ellepaul77

My last page in the Book of Judges. I have enjoyed my time in the book and seeing things I had missed or forgotten.

In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit. - Judges 21:25

I think the story of Samson is a sad one. Here is a man blessed by God and he just threw it all away. How many times do we treat God's blessings in our own life like that? Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes. - Judges 16:28

I have been busy but I am still reading about Gideon.... On the last page my paint leaked onto the back. So that interesting blue streak you see on the side is that. Then I tried my best to free hand the verse. I watercolored the rest and then decided to try a little bit of stenciling... The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive. - Judges 6:16

Sunday afternoon sitting outside thinking about my God who delights in me. Zephaniah 3:17

Reading about Gideon. I always found his story interesting... I think he saw himself as a weak and scared man that didn't have a lot of faith. I think he was humble about who he was. Maybe this is why God allowed him to test him several times.
When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior. - Judges 6:12

I have loved reading the story about Deborah since I was a child! I always thought she was such an inspiration as a Godly woman.
Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time. - Judges 4:4

Why is there when I have a water scene I have to watercolor it? :) It is sad to read that after Joshua and the elders died that the Israelites forgot about God and what he did for their people. I think this show how important it is to teach our children so that they can one day teach their children about God. After that whole generation had been gathered to their ancestors, another generation grew up who knew neither the Lord nor what he had done for Israel. - Judges 2:10
