LIMBO tells the stories of migrants who failed to reach their intended destination, and now live in a condition of perpetual uncertainty in the south of Tunisia. The work touches upon several aspects of the migration experience, from human mobility, issues of social and geographic identity, to the impossibility of continuing an intended journey and finding oneself temporarily stuck in one place. Is a project i'm conducting togheter with @Eileen__Quinn since 2015•
Early afternoon view of the Choucha camp in Ben Guerdane in 2015, where approximately fifty immigrants are left after humanitarian organizations abandoned it in 2012. The pictured tent is the only place in the vicinity where immigrants can get access to electricity. It also represents the social space at the camp, with a television and a small bar which migrants take care of despite limited access to water and other basic resources. The camp is now closed.
