So here is a sandwich I made that hits the spot in a weird way.. When you are cutting weight and doing everything right, sometimes doing something wrong is what your body needs. So on heavy cardio and weight training days where I can double down I do.
After doing 2 hours of endurance training, we all are beat, but you wait a few hours go about your day, and boredom sinks in, so hit the gym again, cause we all knows those days are limited. This sandwich has plenty of protein, fat and carbs, that you feel somewhat recharged hours later for that second round and you still don't go over your calories.
I believe my body only sees carbs, fats, protein and fibre.. (I am simplifying this) so to me it doesn't matter if I eat carbs that... break down into sugars, or something that is just sugar.
It gets broken down and burnt in training... Mind you the rest of my meals are coordinated around this.
