Please keep Matthew in your thoughts and hearts.
"Update: Hello Mighty Matthew Supporter's! Long time since I wrote an update. As you all know, I personally was hospitalized for most of last month but I am happy to report that I am home and improving ever day. My kids and family were my motivation and Matthew my inspiration.
A lot has happened this past month. First let me start by saying that Matthew is stable, happy and home. Today, on this day of love, is his 3 month mark since his Transplant. Matthew's labs last month began to drop after having been on an upward trend, which can be concerning and suspicious. This concern was not as bad as his day +60 marrow biopsy ........ which showed 4% blasts (cancer cells). This is a low %, but having any is scary. We consulted with his BMT Onc team and together agreed to an alternative plan. Because it is 1% below "relapse", they could not definitively say he has relapsed and this quick after transplant, honestly don't want to since he would have no options prior to at least 6 to 12 months post transplant. The alternative plan is that the DLI (additional donor cells) that Matthew was to receive due to no GVHD, was cancelled and instead they will hold on to the preserved cells and pull more if / when needed to delay any progression when at a higher % and extend time wanted / needed. In mean time, they are testing his Chrimerism and Gene every two weeks with weekly labs to keep a close eye on him.
The important part is that we are all together and home. Matthew is still on BMT restrictions so he is still limited on going out and eating certain foods but he has adjusted great and counts down the days to when he can do and or eat certain things. We thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers and support!"
