Lets talk about STRENGTH tonight πŸ’ͺ Who else here is guilty of flicking through instagram and seeing people hit like 100kg squats and feeling slightly inadequate about yours? I did this for years which led me to cause myself injury regularly , putting me out for a couple of weeks at a time, as i tried to puah myself outside of my bodies physical limits.

You need to remember guys when you're flicking through IG that everyones different! The people you see may have been training for longer than you. They may have already been through multiple bulks, naturally put on muscle more easily (I for one have a major struggle with this) or may be able to train more times a week than you. They may have abs because gentically they hold their fat elsewhere. But you might be better at cardio than them, you might have better flexibility or you might have better endurance.

I will openly admit that my upper body strength is definitely a work in progress and I recently took my squats back to basic 20kg to improve my form and slowly build up the weight without a weight shift. I'm now only just hitting a 40kg squat but a 40kg squat with good form!

Do I feel inadequate anymore? No because over the past month my weight lifting has increased with almost every workout and i've been hitting PBs weekly. I've learnt to only be better than myself in the gym rather than competing with others I don't even know personally who are at a completely different journey stage to me! Yes they're an inspiration to keep me going knowing that one day I could reach their level but i now challenge myself to be better than myself not others.

Everyone is different guys. Never feel like you're not good enough! You are! And you can only be a stronger version of yourself so challenege yourself within your limits and with consistency and time you will progress! 😘😘😘

This was my whole workout. I thought squats felt like shit today, but apparently it didn't look toooo bad I guess? This is only the second time since running Conjugate that I've ever free squatted. This is 150x5. Clearly nowhere near where I used to be, but I'm just happy my form isn't dog shit anymore. I noticed my knees only caved in when my depth was too low, so I need to start learning to cut my depth a bit and don't go lower than I need to.

#FlashbackFriday to last year when I used to hate waking up early to hit the gym. I remember I used to pep talk myself to get out of bed.
Today, I have no problem waking up at the crack of dawn to train. I actually LOVE my early morning routines.
