This week we returned to a place very close to our hearts. The Clifton Hill Brewpub is home to the second ever Parma we tried when our Monday night antics began back I 2014. Ever since, they’ve kept us coming back for more and it had been too way too long since we’d visited.
Anyway, so plates were out after 25 mins and looked quite good with decent servings all round. Digging in, we found the crumbing soggy and tasteless. Chicken was of great quality but unfortunately lacked any flavour. Toppings were all great, with a tasty Napoli sauce and cheese, but a forgettable slice of pork.
The chips were fantastic - classic beer battered never fails to impress. We opted for the coleslaw instead of salad for a change. We wished we hadn’t though, as we found it way too creamy which distracted from the rest of the slaw.
Unfortunately the Brewy didn’t deliver a great Parma this time round. Ultimately it was the soggy crumbing and bland chicken that held it back. All the ingredients are quality and we have no doubt that with better execution it can return back to top form.
