YODI DODI #fitfam it’s Chef P 👨🏾‍🍳 so I was listening to the @lewishowes podcast today and I wanna share with you the importance of hardwork in accomplishing your dreams and or goals. I’ll take hardwork over talent any day. The nature of hardwork demands a hunger that will surpass the talent another has been born with. Hunger is the key to your drive! Whatever it is that you want to do or whoever it is that you aspire to be will come to pass with your hardwork. Do not focus and or worry about the things out of your control just continue to put in the hardwork. Your hardwork and patience will bring your aspirations to pass. There’s gonna be hard times and lonely times but that to shall pass. Anyone that’s successful today has had to put in hardwork. Pray, Read, train, and act and watch your growth manifest itself! Hope everyone has an awesome week!!!!

The toughest part is finding balance on the bar 😂 Today I did Superset this exercise with lying leg presses for 10 reps, 4 sets total! Here are a few key factors to take away when performing…

🔑 Pull with the glutes and hamstring not the shoulders

🔑 squeeze the glutes and hamstring at the top of the mvmnt .
🔑 controlled tempo, try not to slam weight on the way down
.
🔑 find your targeted tempo and stay consistent in that rhythm. May take a few tries as it did for me

YODI DODI #fitfam CHEF P👨🏾‍🍳 back at it!!! I’m geeked on my recent squat performance. My weekly leg routine is to focus on legs twice a week with an emphasis on quads or hamstrings each of those days. In this video I was able to hit a PB, while performing a BARBELL BACK SQUAT (narrow stance with depth) 2-3 weeks ago I was working with 245. This week 315 felt fairly smooth! In this workout I did 4 x 6 with a 20 pound increase every set, ending with 315 last set. .
.
For the most part I like to focus on reps with strength, but as I’m bulking these next six months it’s my goal to increase my mass and strength without sacrificing a healthy form! So despite my increase in weight I still want to incorporate strict form and a deep range of mobility. I’m not big on 1 rep maxes more so how many reps I can perform a certain weight. Progressive Overload is the key!!!!

YODI DODI #fitfam! This bulk is feeling good! Already making gains in the gym and haven’t substantially sacrificed my physique in the process. For a lean bulk it’s important to understand your caloric composition with the correct Macro split! Your caloric composition determines your body composition, always keep that in mind. When loosing or gaining weight, slow and steady wins the race. Fast weight loss or gain is only short term. Make your growth a gradual process and it will stay!

Always remember that In your moments of failure is where true character is built, new ideas are created, perseverance and dedication appear, and or where you find what you’re truly made of. Without challenges there can be no growth. Failure is apart of your process to success. Embrace your failure as an opportunity not the end our final outcome! Learn where you went wrong then return, conquer, and move on to the next challenge. How you approach one problem is how you’ll approach all problems. Don’t make it a habit of giving up. Because in that moment of giving in to your failure is where you become a true failure!

Here’s a video of my complete fail at attempting 495lb low rack pull. I was a bit lower than the standard 2 inches below the knees where it’s recommended for your rack pulls to be performed but it was still effective. That 495 just was not moving this weekend! Trust me I’ll get it with ease soon enough. As I’m in the process of gaining weight I’m also looking to increase my strength tremendously while being safe and injury free. .

BUT I will say that in being in this place you must understand that there will be sacrifices. Other areas in your life will face sacrifices for your success. Determining those areas are the hard part. Whether it’s your health, social life, dating/relationship, personal development, financial and or spiritual growth. This past year it’s been my number one goal to grow in spirit (faith), personal development, career and health. The areas that have taken the back seat and have seen the most sacrifice are my social life and date/relationship. In this next year, I plan to find a way to find balance and implement these areas of my life a little more! LITTLE MORE! My goals are still most important. So from this I challenge you guys to stay focused but always find away to challenge yourself with finding balance. Mad love family!!!
