This unlucky shrimp swam into the wrong neighborhood... Clinging to the branches of a gorgonian in the darkness of night, a pack of skeleton shrimp (Caprella sp.) wait for prey to wander too close to their outstretched arms. As the shrimp obliviously floated by the trap, it was ambushed by the amphipods and a tug of war quickly ensued. Despite being 60' or 18m deep, surge rocked and rattled the gorgonian making it difficult for them to keep hold, but ultimately the larger shrimp didn't stand a chance against these opportunistic ghosts.
